Michael Jay Address Details Witheld |

Hi Julian,
As a Senior Pilot with British Airways, and with 33 years experience of flying Super VC10’s, Boeing 757’s, Boeing 747–100, Boeing 747–200’s & Boeing 747–400’s around the world, I would recommend Ride Drive to anyone.
I am also a Special Constable with the Metropolitan Police with 10 years experience of patrol duties, and am well qualified as an instructor in Officer Safety Training and Firearms Training, so I know very well the benefits of both giving and receiving good instruction.
Having driven cars all over the world for 40–years, including the wildest bush in Africa, with not a single accident, after 38 year’s absence I recently returned to motorcycling. I bought two BMW bikes, a K1200RS for ‘long haul’ and an F650 for ‘short haul’ riding. Being a strong believer in proper training, and in view of the difference between bikes and cars, I looked for some good motorcycle rider training.
Attending a well–known course at another school was a disaster, which nearly put me off motorcycling for life. Poor organisation and poor instruction meant a total disappointment and a waste of time, not to mention money
However, having just completed 4–days of motorcycle training with Ride Drive, I can honestly say it was excellent. The standard of training was very professional and fully up to the training standards to which I have been accustomed to receiving with British Airways.

The first three–days of instruction were not basic riding lessons, but covered tactics, positioning and survival plans for the road. A full–day in the classroom provided the opportunity to ask many questions, whereas the two days on the road, with a police instructor, provided the opportunity to answer them. Within a week this training has already saved me from being hit by a car.
The fourth day was spent on a slow riding training course. This was also excellent, being well organised with such worldly comforts as a marquee, food and proper seating. There was good, friendly instruction, good friendly students, and the course involved handling exercises on a variety of marked–out courses. These were difficult, but the challenge and the quality of instruction resulted in an improved level of skill for all.
Most of us ride or drive on the roads. Without doubt, police riders and drivers have got to be the best instructors for this kind of driving or riding. All the Ride Drive instructors have been friendly, helpful, and as one would expect from police instructors, very experienced and knowledgeable. I recommend them unreservedly to everyone.
Thanks
Michael Jay
