Format of the Course
Like with all Ride Drive courses the start point will always be a location that is arranged directly between the customer and the course instructor. We will always try and make this as close to your home address as we can, although there will be some travelling involved.
Whilst the training input will have to focus upon the various core-competencies, as outlined by the course syllabus we have retained sufficient flexibility within the framework to include aspects of motorcycling that you may wish to cover. These aspects can be discussed when you are contacted by your trainer before the course, so the instructor can build a session plan.
During the training day you will be expected to play the role of lead motorcyclist whilst being observed by your instructor and even a second course candidate, if participating in a 2:1 training scenario. You will get the opportunity on several occasions to observe the manner in which your instructor rides and he⁄she demonstrated various riding techniques whilst you follow. |

There will be several stops built into the day for briefings, refreshments and of course a lunch break. These occasions provide opportunities to discuss the techniques you are being asked to take on board and to ask any questions you might have.
The End of Course Assessment Process
Just before the end of the day an assessment is made concerning your level of knowledge of the riding system, which is conducted by way of an oral test. Providing you answer the questions in a satisfactory manner, demonstrating you have a clear understanding of the elements of the learning input, you should achieve the required level.
Your riding ability is also assessed, but over the full day. Your instructor will be looking to see that you are listening, learning and applying the knowledge that you are given to a satisfactory standard. He⁄she will not be looking for outright speed, but for a smooth, flowing and well–systemised riding style that shows you can make progress safely and by intelligent interpretation of the road environment.
