The Class One Motorcycle Course

National Qualification Framework Level–3

Allocated Time: 3–Days 1:1 or 2:1
Content: On–Road & Theoretical Advanced Motorcycle Rider Training
Accreditation: National Qualification Framework Level–3 Award

Introduction

The Class–One Motorcycle Course is a three day advanced training programme and carries a Level–3 award under the National Qualification Framework system. Therefore, any motorcyclist who secures a successful outcome to this course can be justly classed as being a rider of respectable talent.

As the flagship course within the Ride Drive catalogue, the Class One Motorcycle Course is as uncompromising in the demands it places upon its students as the title suggests. Certainly, it is by no means a typical motorcycle rider training programme, but one that will add a whole new dimension to your world of riding your bike on the public road.

Accredited by a leading UK training and education awards establishment, the OCN Credit4Learning, this advanced motorcycle riders course is graded under the National Qualification Framework as providing a Level–3 award.

Format of the Course

The Class–One Motorcycle Course provides both practical and theoretical rider training over a three–day syllabus. Two of the dates involve practical rider training input, whereas the third day is taken up with the theory training module.

Testing of knowledge and ability is completed through a process of practically assessed rides, an oral test of key principles of the advanced riding system and the completion of written test papers.

Prior to beginning g the course, candidates will be provided with all training reference material required, which includes a course pre–read manual, to help you prepare your knowledge in advance.

At all times we make sure that all points introduced are understood and that all learning outcomes are achieved. The great thing about this course is that whilst it delivers a high standard in advanced motorcycle rider training, it still remains flexible enough to be tailored to the needs of the individual. Therefore, if there are any aspects of motorcycling that you wish to be covered during training we can factor these into the course.

Class–One Motorcycle Course – Theory Training

As the course demands the use of a classroom type environment the theory training, and completion of test papers, will need the use of the appropriate facilities. We have the use of facilities in a number of geographical areas, but if yours is not an area that we have previously visited, then we will do our best to find local premises that will suit our purpose. However, failing that, very reasonably priced accommodation can be provided when necessary, should the course take you far from your home area.

Even if the theory date is completed away from home, the practical rider training and assessment can take place more locally, making the completion of the course a more flexible process. Also, the three dates do not have to be completed consecutively and this allows you some self-development and practice time whilst still within training period.

Class–One Motorcycle Course – Practical Rider Training

The practical rider training course module is to be completed by you whilst riding your own motorcycle. At certain points during training your bike instructor will require you to spend periods of time as the lead rider and on occasions to follow to observe a demonstration ride.

It may be that you will train with another course candidate and will therefore have the opportunity to observe someone else whilst they are under instruction. At no time will the practical rider training sessions be completed with more than two candidates to one instructor.

Your instructor will take time to brief you and to demonstrate the required advanced riding techniques always in a manner that encourages you to learn quickly and without ever being made to feel embarrassed. Remember, this motorcycle rider course is intended to build upon your existing skills, not to destroy them.

Who Should Complete this Motorcycle Rider’s Training Course

The course is suited to those who could be described as being fanatical about motorcycling and who want to deliver to the highest standard of riding in the civilian world of motorcycling. It is for those who wish to ride to a level that is beyond reproach therefore setting an example for others to aspire to.

It needs to be made clear right from the start, this course is no place for the feint–hearted. It is going to require total commitment if a successful outcome is to be achieved. The level of knowledge is high and the development of practical riding skills is intense.

However, like with most endeavours, if the determination to success is there, as well as the commitment to learning, and at the exclusion of all distractions, there is no reason why a successful outcome cannot be achieved.

If now is your time to think about advanced motorcycle rider training to the highest of standards, then now is the time to think about the Ride Drive Class–One Motorcycle Course.
